AID TO CALASIAO SWINE RAISERS

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian distributed financial assistance to the swine raisers affected by the African Swine Fever (ASF) in Calasiao. A total of 132 hog raisers from our municipality received financial assistance from the Provincial Government whose hogs were depopulated after being infected with the ASF.

Mayor Joseph Arman C. Bauzon said that the Local Government of Calasiao is in full support with these programs for the Agriculture Sector. Mr. Ramon Morden, Executive Assistant from the Province of Pangasinan stated that the Department of Agriculture compensates a maximum of 20 hogs per owner at 5,000 Php per hog, while the province compensates 1,000 Php per head. In addition, LGU Calasiao thru the Municipal Agriculture Office also aided financial assistance amounting 1,500 php for every culled hog.

Dr. Jovito Tabajeros, Assistant Provincial Veterinarian was also present during the ceremony together with other staff from the Provincial Veterinary Office and 3rd District Board Member Vici Ventanilla also graced the occasion.
