Prov’l Gov’t, PNP reiterate strict border point protocols

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan, along with the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office, reiterate the strict border control point protocols at the Tarlac-Pangasinan Boundary amidst the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the province.

“Bago sila pumasok dito, hinahanapan namin sila ng travel authority. Kung wala silang travel authority, pinapabalik namin sila sa kanilang point of origin,” Police Senior Master Sergeant Rolan Tavara said in an interview.

PSMS Tavara stressed that individuals who plan to enter the province shall secure and present necessary documents upon their entry.

“Kumuha dapat muna ng travel authority bago kayo pumasok ng Pangasinan,” advised PSMS Tavara.

It can be noted that medical certificate is a pre-requisite to acquire travel authority from the Philippine National Police of their point of origin.

On July 30, a total of 15 locally stranded individuals in Pangasinan-Tarlac Border were assisted by the Provincial Government through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to enter the province.

The 15 stranded individuals underwent the RT-PCR test conducted by the Provincial Health Office before they were fetched by their respective local health offices.

The Provincial Government clarified that the LSIs will be brought to their local quarantine facilities and will stay there until the release of their swab results.

The stranded individuals were composed of Pangasinenses from: Binalonan (1), Umingan (1), Lingayen (1), Mangaldan (2), Balungao (1), Pozorrubio (1), Dagupan City (1), San Manuel (1), Rosales (2), Asingan (1), Tayug (3).

One of the LSIs who stayed at the border control point for eight days said, “Okay naman kami dito. Hindi kami nagkasakit. Okay din ‘yong pagkain namin at paliguan.”

He also thanked Governor Amado I. Espino III for helping them enter Pangasinan.

“Maraming salamat Gov. Espino dahil makakauwi na ako,” said the stranded individual.

Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection and Philippine Coast Guard were also swabbed by the PHO. (Paula Jhea Sison)
